Saturday Tunes
Pure goofiness. Kirk Franklin sampling EWF and Patrice Rushen. Will Smith jumps in on the Rushen bandwagon. Playing for kicks.

Fun stuff. Love Men In Black. I would love me one of those memory eraser thing-a-ma-bobbers.....
Dee: Just pure goofy, though I do like me some Kirk Franklin arrangements. As giddy as Patrice Rushen's hits tend to me, she is actually one awesome jazz pianist. I was first introduced to her with Jean Luc Ponty, on his 1970s Renaissance album.
What a funky saturday you had, Paschal!
I'm really surprised listening to Forget me Nots, I had absolutely no idea the Men in Black song was sampled from some other song.
Ah and the dancing in September cover reminds me of 1999, my...that was such a long time ago. haha
And you still such a young one, DM. "September" first broke in, gulp, 1978. I love the exuberance of KF's take on the song; hard to imagine anyone topping EWF's uber-exuberance, but I think he and his folk do just that.
Love hearing from you.
I actually saw Earth, Wind, and Fire in person in Tuscaloosa. Once upon a time. And thanks for reminding me of those Men in Black.
San: I bet they was big and splashy in Tuscaloosa. I'm guessing I probably saw them about the same time in Austin. Bit of a letdown for me that time, but I do dig the tunes. Early EWF - Head to the Sky - was my favorite album anyway. That was before big and splashy.
They were big and splashy and the audience was bigger and splashier.
San: Outsplashing EWF on the Black Warrior River: now, that's sumpin'.
