one word: reserved
reversed
if you will
I go upside
down
when not wearing my fits
I flirt with less danger
than before
how about you?
when did you last call it home
or didn't you -
if you will
I go upside
down
when not wearing my fits
I flirt with less danger
than before
how about you?
when did you last call it home
or didn't you -

Well, you're certainly on a tear with these one word poem posts.
I like the reserved/reversed subversiveness. Two thoughts stand out: "I flirt less with danger / than before" and "when did you last call it home / or didn't you" Those will keep me thinking for awhile.
Teresa: The subversion was simple: my eye read reversed at first, so I just went from there. Though these fragments certainly come from my crazed head, I'm not a Freudian, so I'm not willing to claim personal relevance (of course, I'm not willing to dismiss personal relevance, either). Seems most of us flirt less with danger as we grow older, though maybe as we grow older that's all we do: flirt with it. Earlier, we might have danced, even spent the occasional night with it, had a torrid affair. Now, we wink at it behind our cappuccinos.
Rereading this, the poem, and your comment, Sigmund got me, after all. You quote the line as I flirt less with danger, a misreading that I followed in my first comment, when the line is actually I flirt with less danger. That will keep me thinking for a while.
ooh. Got me too. Because I do flirt much less with danger than I used. Now do I flirt with less danger, hmmm? Don't flirt much any more in that way at all. Very interesting...
