If only it wasn't 1:30 am, I'd surely be dancing around...

Otra vez!! Celia dances like the host mother of the family I stayed with in Costa Rica the summer I was 15... She would take her teenage kids and their friends dancing in the clubs till the wee hours of the morning, and we would stop at the panaderia on the way home to buy fresh bread hot from the oven at 3 am (to soak up the alcohol in our stomachs so the host father wouldn't get mad). That was one summer of dancing and fun!! (And school, but for our chemistry lab we actually distilled fruit wines and then got into the professor's still and his guaro--sugar cane liquor.)Thanks for the memories. And on to mas Celia and el baile divino.

Teresa: And this is Celia viejita, so the dancing is more subdued. She burns in her younger years, all that burning still blazing in that megawatt smile of hers.

Teresa, otra vez: I'm finding tons of Fania All-Stars y Celia (CDs and DVDs) in the Tres Leches biblioteca. I suspect that there are truckloads more out your way, given your proximity to East L. A.

Gotta get time to breathe. We're in midterms and projects and translation contracts and human rights lawyers coming to Pepperdine from China and still trying to save higher education in California.
