one word bicuspids: licorice

Fabulastic —
only at
the madras cafe
or
on your toofbrush:
these are lasting things,
known universes,
Karaoke brilliantines
that tickle
the ivories,
sending back the past
due sentimentalities
that linger on
the tongue.

toofpaste - made me giggle and I needed to. Here's to two more days and then a badly needed long weekend. Fabulastic penny candy, candy necklaces, candy lipsticks, little wax bottles filled with flavor - bite the top off and drink, licorice sticks, neccos, tootsie rolls and bubble gum at the madras cafe, all the pretty colors - wanna go there now and giggle.

So Murat, did your sweet tooth do you in at the dentists office?? Did you have licorice stuck all over your bicuspids, so gooey and rubbery and fantabulous? So that your toofbrush has black licorice residue? I agre that the aftertaste of licorice is a lasting thing that tickles the ivory of your teeth, giving a sentimental, old-fashioned flavor that lingers on the tongue. You really need to brush for three minutes with toofpaste after eating candy, or the dentist will get mad!

Dee: All of us summering vagabonds are lusting after the upcoming three-day weekend; after three weeks of acting as teachers, you'd think we never had the summer off, pobrecitos. Open House is tonight, so we'll all be zombies tomorrow. You, on the other hand, from the sounds of it, have a real job, and deserve all the down time you can get. Glad you had fun in the arcade.

Sister T: Actually, I just hate licorice, with two exceptions: the little licorice bits I get as I'm leaving my favorite Indian restaurants and in my toofpaste. Tina and Walden, on the other hand, love it in any and all forms.

Interesting connection of teeth, licorice and music, Paschal. The picture reminds me of candles in a church holding prayers and, perhaps in this case, joy as we celebrate our friends' wedding. :-)

Blessings to you and yours!

All sweet things, each line a treat. Makes me feel like heading out to buy some Good & Plenty. Hope you're looking forward to a wonderful weekend -- can't believe they've made you start already!

Anno: I know, y'all northern folk still believe in Labor Day as a marker for return to school. I'd say that, on the positive side, we get out two weeks earlier than most folks around here, but if I recall, you were done by late April anyway. Y'all got the calendar magic...
