"When the weary mind is rested..."
If it ain't already a Christmas song, it should be:
This is beautiful! Ms. B. has a voice and song that are both perfectly in synch with the season -- real solace for the weary mind. Thanks for sharing this one.
"I'm gonna keep on giving you the best that I got...."
My motto baby. Love Miss B.'s soulful voice. She hits some notes that reminds me of Angela Bofill. I know you must be familiar with her. Her album, Angel of the Night, came out in '79, the same year my daughter was born. I think I wore out that LP from playing it so much and I used to sing SOME of her songs to my little one and she grew up singing Bofill, way before she even knew who Bofill was. Ah, this brought back some memories....
Hope your Holidays are going well with your fam....have a very merry....
Rebecca: Surprisingly, I had to go YouTube Ms Bofill: I remembered the name, but could conjure no sounds: those were my Chaka and Rikki Lee Jones days, so she should have come through somewhere...
She has some very interesting colors and textures in her voice, that same Teena Marie ability to skate thin and full-bodied all in a matter of seconds.

Anno: Ms B's longlost breakthrough album, CD-wise, was in the stocking this morning. Only felt right to share with the rested wearies.
I love it, it's so deliciously 80s :D
Perfect for late night listening, like now.
Right you are, DM. I gotta find this Cassandra for you, too...
