Anno: Bought my first GB cd yesterday. They're wondrously insane. Back in the 70s, there was an amazing reggae band known as the Lotions, they of the 30-minute "96 Tears" versions. Wonderfully bacchanalian; they've since reincarnated as the Mau Mau Chaplains in Austin, though I've yet to see them. GB is the Lotions times 50.
I love how in "Harem in Tuscany" they get a nice groove going and then the whole place explodes. Website's on my blogroll now, the better to check for possible sightings. I put my Nashville sister on notice for a July 25th gig in her neck of the woods.
Hey! You've got Royal Oak on June 2!
They should make it to Austin sometime in the near future. Surely.
