Great image, Paschal. Makes Santa Fe's monocolored rooftop farolitos look a little lackluster. But we got ice sculptures on the Plaza! And bonfires on Christmas Eve! We need the latter too--it's friggin' cold when we walk down Canyon Road, singing Christmas carols. IF we walk down Canyon Road this year. In the old days some of the galleries would open their doors for people to come in, warm up, and drink hot cider. That tradition is no longer alive. Can't see that I blame the galleries. I wouldn't want to spend my Christmas Eve being open to the public either.

The image is in fact quite tame, compared to the reality of 37th Street. Full-fledged description of the Mecca is coming (my annual recycled "Christmas" "card" / homage to the Austin gnomes): I'll probably post it next weekend, if we don't just go there (again) first.
